Train your puppy with the end goal in mind

Puppy Training
At Woods Family Dog Training, we start puppy training by teaching our puppies how to learn. We set realistic and obtainable goals for puppies and coach clients to use easy to learn techniques.

Exposure

If you have goals of taking your pup on all of your life's adventures, we need to expose your pup to as many environments and stimuli as we can. Socialization is a big part of raising a well balanced member of the family but there are many pitfalls along the way. Let us help you socialize and expose your pup the correct way so that your pup has positive associations with the people, places and things you are around the most.
The 8–16 week period is a critical learning window in a puppy’s development. During this time, puppies are highly receptive to new experiences and form habits—both good and bad—very quickly. Proper exposure to people, environments, sounds, and routines during this stage helps build confidence, resilience, and a strong foundation for future training.
For gun dog puppies, thoughtful early experiences during this period set the stage for successful obedience, field work, and long-term performance.
